D7 visa for Newly Joined Employee
Date : 2025-11-21
-
- Background
- Applicant C, a senior manager, was scheduled to be dispatched to their branch in Korea on an international assignment. However, she has only been with the current company for six months.
-
- Challenge
- To obtain a D-7 work permit visa in Korea, it must be confirmed that she has been employed at the company’s headquarters or an overseas affiliate for more than one year, but she does not meet this requirement.
-
- Result
- In the end, Applicant C was able to obtain the D-7 work visa, as the immigration office accepted her previous work experience in a relevant field, which totaled more than five years in the same industry.
-
- Solution
- To address this challenge, we visited the immigration office with her Curriculum Vitae (resume), which included detailed information about her work experience. During the consultation, we highlighted that she possesses substantial experience in the same industry and qualifies as a highly skilled professional. Based on this, the officer confirmed that she would be eligible for a D-7 visa as long as she submitted a career certificate from her previous company. Ultimately, Applicant C was able to successfully obtain the work permit.
